Research

My research interests are broad and include the nineteenth-century Lied, twentieth-century music, music theory, music as cultural practice, representations and visualisations of nineteenth-century musical practice, jazz in the German Democratic Republic, music and biography, the nineteenth-century salon, music and media, music and text, musicology in the public, teaching musicology, and music and gender.

I also have an interest in empirical journalism research and media usage theories.
